KFC
installs 2 Procurve switches. One is a
redundant backup. Both are installed in
the black network box along with a patch
panel. Network runs are terminated at
the patch panel and patch cables connect
to the switch. The switches are
managed and can be diagnosed by
corporate. As such, use caution when
switching ports.
Taco Bell
installs 2 switches. The Allied switch
is used for the POS network (terminals,
KVS, etc.) The Milan switch is used for
the back office equipment and will
usually only contain the TACO PC,
Internet connection, and Fulenwider PC.
Printer, wireless, etc., may be
connected if available.
When troubleshooting network
connections, ensure each used port has a
corresponding light indicating a good
connection. Some switches will have 2
lights - solid for connectivity (Link)
and flashing for activity. Sometimes the
lights are combined.
